Hey KCA Loves!
I just wanted to update all of you about the month of April.
We are starting the Who Gives A Buck Campaign. The idea is to sell Chinese food takeout boxes for $1 each and register that person and urge them to college $100 from all their friends and family, typically asking eahc person to donate $1 each, thus Who Gives A BUCK!
We have 60 boxes and I want each of your to be in charge of selling at least 5 and the rest will be sold at our Bake Sale next Wednesday April 1 at 11-3:30 in Dickson! AND our Poetry Night next Thursday April 2 at 6:30 in SC 104. After that we have a table in the Student Center lobby on 3 Wednesdays, 4/8, 4/15, and 4/29. The last wednesday will be when we collect all the boxes from the people we sold them to. If they are from another town or dont go to MSU, please be responsible for collecting them on your own.
Please let me know if you have any questions and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to the Bake Sale next wed. and bring food and come to get your boxes!! SUPER IMPORTANT!
THANKS!

Hi everyone! Yesterday (2/25) we had our first official meeting. For anyone who is still interested in joining or being a part of KCA, our group meets every Wednesday at 2:30 in Cafe Diem. We have a lot of events and fundraisers happening this semester and the more help we can get the better!
- First, we have our next bake sale Wednesday 3/4 in the Dickson Hall Lobby from 11-4. Anyone who can donate food or drinks please drop them off between 10:30 and 11.
- Our next screening of Alicia in Africa is 3/11 at 2:30 in room 1060 in University Hall
- We our planning a Roadblock for April, (date is still up in the air)
- Also, our Who Gives a Buck? Campaign is back! This year we are using Chinese Food Boxes so that we can collect any donations. More info to come on that!

*Please tell your friends about KCA, if you cannot come to meetings and still want to be a part of the group, please message myself or Carmella. We need all the help we can get to make these events happen!*

I found some websites for the chinese food boxes, I sent them to Carmella to take a look at, if anyone else wants to take a look at the websites let me know and I will e-mail them to you. Jess idk if you still want to look, but i guess the more websites the better .

ok sounds good. i can do the chinese boxes. I will get it to you as soon as i can. So anyway one of my dad's friend saw our jar in the barn and the sign i made for it. he asked me about it and told me whatever we have by the end of February he's going to double it! We have been also doing something that is really helping people donate..we put candy canes on the jar and everyone who takes one has been donating on their own! My dad had a bunch and was putting them their for the holidays for people to take. It's great. So if anyone has any candy canes please give me them.

OKAY EVERYONE!! We're getting back to school next week and we need to hit the ground running. I need one person to come back with some details about the Chinese Boxes, prices, quantities, 3 different vendors so that we can submit it as a bill to SGA.
Please let me know which one of you wants to do this, and it doesn't have to be just one, it could be a team.
Also, just a general note, I want us all to take a little more of a proactive position in the group this year because we all know that when several people work on something it always goes smoother. We don't want one person to have all the responsibility. EACH member can TAKE CHARGE and MAKE A CONTRIBUTION as a TEAM. We will benefit from added participation from everyone.
THANKS GUYS!!
Can't wait to get started again.

I just found out that the total from the Barn Nite was $275!!!!!
That brings our total for Fall 2008 $946.81!! Nice job everyone!
We can and will do better this Spring. Please come back with new ideas and research about them so we can hit the ground running. Meetings will stay the same, every Wed. 2:30pm at Cafe Diem.
Overall plan of attack is as follows:
Chinese Boxes -'Who Gives a Buck Challenge" tables in SC
3 Bake Sales
2 Poetry Nites
3 Film Screenings
See you all in a few weeks!

Hello All, I just wanted to share with everyone that I have sent in a check for $671.81 to Keep A Child Alive from our efforts this semester. This total does NOT include the money from the percentage of the Barn Night sales. I will get back to you on that.
Great job, everyone. We will do MUCH more than that next semester.
Happy Holidays!!
Love, Carmella
